Leaving Home

It was hard to leave my family. The family that I've lived with all my life. It was also hard to leave my friends back in Oregon, but I'm in Texas now! Let's see what wonderful opportunities await!

Why are both of you working??

I have yet to understand this excessive need for both parents to work in a family. I can understand it when your child is old enough to be on his own, but when your kid is 7, 8, 9 or younger you should be there. Both of you are not needed to work. If you choose to have kids you or your spouse should stay home with him/her/them.

I'm not going to try and say that it should be the wife or anything (especially in this age) but ONE of you should stay home. This goes hand in hand with a previous post I made about preschool. I know you can just drop them off at some place and then go to work but it's too much..... you may think you can handle it but your FIRST duty is to your kids and that job will suffer if you add something else.

Sometimes what it comes down to is your 8 year old kid having to come home from school to an empty house and just stay there by him/herself till you come home, and that's not safe.

Cousin Coming!!

One of my cousins are coming over to our house for a few days with a few of her friends. This is one of the cousins that we always take a trip to go see on thanksgiving except this time she is coming here and she just graduated from college. It should be fun! So you'll know why if I don't post for a few days.

Onward!! To Texas!

I'm going to be taking a long trip to Texas in June with my family and some friends. I'll be staying there but the rest of them will come back. I think it will be a fun adventure. We already have the entire trip mapped out!

Sunday

Sunday was GREAT!! First of all I went to church and helped out with some kids in what we call "Second Hour" Sunday school classes. My church does things opposite than most churches, we do the BIG sermon first and then we do Sunday school after. So, during Sunday school I went and helped with some preschoolers. Then we went home and started playing TWO games at the same time (A computer game called Heroes 5 and monopoly on the Wii). It was intense (and fun).

FIRST DAY WITH FRIENDS

Today was the first full day we had with our friends, they arrived last night and spent the night with us and they will leave on Sunday. We've known these people forever. Today we went to the beach, climbed a little sand hill, and hiked around a little. Other than that there's really nothing much to report.

Home

We are heading home today. We will be home in a little over 9 hours. Hopefully I will get to drive on this trip. I am pretty sure I will though, because it is a really long drive.

Camping

I am going to go camping today with some of my family.

It will be fun.  Keep you posted
